National Soil Health Strategy
The National Soil Health Strategy (NSHS) advances soil health, sustainable agriculture, and climate resilience in Canada. Launched in 2022 with the SCCC and Compost Council of Canada, it unites stakeholders to support soil conservation and help meet Canada’s 2030 and 2050 climate goals.
How to get involved
Up until now, we have maintained a general working group to direct National Soil Health Strategy progress. This has been primarily informed by countless agricultural stakeholders, including soil scientists, crop associations, conservation organizations, farm groups, government representatives and many more. There has also been an Action & Priorities group that has done much of the groundwork and comparative analysis of other relevant agricultural soil strategies and potential structures, methods, and options for Canada's unique circumstances.
